Kate and Randy came to me months ago looking for a more candid, documentary approach to their wedding day. (The best!!) They decided to forgo most of the traditions and ended up with one of the best wedding day’s I’ve witnessed.
Their wedding took place on the beautiful grounds of the Benachi House in January. Guests arrived to glasses of champagne before the couple made their entrance. Instead of walking down the aisle, Kate and Randy came out after the officiant started a slow clap which turned into a full on cheer! After they said I do, everyone did a champagne toast and the reception began.
The weather was absolutely perfect for dancing under string lights, wrapped in a light blanket compliments on the wedding couple! There wasn’t cake cutting, formal dancing, or a bouquet toss. Instead, they had food trucks, yard games, legos, a strolling magician, dance party, late night coffee truck, and cheeseburgers and fries to go! If that wasn’t enough, a shuttle bus took guests to Cafe Du Monde to finish the evening with hot beignets. It. Was. Awesome.
