When Caroline and I first chatted on the phone, she emphasized her love of another classic wedding I shot. Knowing that she preferred traditional over quirky helped me curate and capture her day that fit her aesthetic. When I get to know my clients, I feel like their relationship and personalities lend to my photography style for their day. If a couple is super traditional with a church wedding, I honor that formality in their photographs. If a couple expresses they want minimal portraits but loveeee offbeat, quirky candids, I approach their day a little differently! Caroline was clear about her favorite style and her venue definitely fit the bill! They were married at the Shoal Creek Golf & Country Club on a beautiful Spring day! I mean the weather was PERFECT. Sunny with a breeze that kept her guests comfortable all evening long.
One of the biggest things that stood out to me on their wedding day was the emotions and love shared between them and their family. It was one of the most emotional days this year and I think I cried about 3 times. Not full blown sobbing because that would be weird but tearing up at the sweet moments!
Her momma hugging her after zipping up her gown.
Her dad crying when he saw her.
Cooper’s reaction as she walked down the aisle.
Cooper’s momma shedding a tear during their last dance of the evening.
It’s moments like these that are PRICELESS. You’ll be 3 glasses deep in wine and slow dancing with your eyes closed and never know your momma cried watching you. It’s images like that (scroll down!) that you will cherish for a lifetime. I know that sounds corny but seriously imagine being 75 years old, flipping through the pictures below, feeling that love again. It’s why I’m so passionate about what I do!
